Signed (& maybe even personalized!) Book Giveaway Hop (US)

Welcome to the Signed Books Giveaway Hop!
hosted by I Am A Reader, Not A Writer & Wholly Books

For this hop, ONE (1) lucky winner will get ONE (1) book!
So which book?
The Spring into the Future Tour is stopping by my town on the 25th,  and YOU get to reap the reward!
Basically, the winner of this hop can choose one YA* book by any of these authors! And if I can get my shit together and get a response from the winner in time, I will also get your book personalized! I can't guarantee that since it depends too much on me being able to choose a winner, email them, and get a choice/response by the 25th, but I do swear to try my hardest.

So which books can the winner choose from? Any one of the following:
Unearthly by Cynthia Hand
Hallowed by Cynthia Hand
Boundless by Cynthia Hand
Shatter Me by Tahareh Mafi
Unravel Me by Tahareh Mafi
Eve by Anna Carey
Once by Anna Carey
Rise by Anna Carey
Under the Never Sky by Veronica Rossi
Through the Ever Night by Veronica Rossi
Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs
Not these specific books - these are mine. But I will get one copy of any you like!

US only, ends April 22!
Enter through the rafflecopter below, and all my usual giveaway policy rules apply.
Make sure to check out the rest of the linky list, there are some great prizes!
Good luck!

*if you noticed this asterisk, good job! It has to be a YA book because I cannot guarantee Mysterious Galaxy to have any of the authors' MG, adult, or Photo books. Sorry!

Sadly this has never happened yet! But I did receive my first signed arc of Unremembered from Jessica Brody for winning a giveaway. :D It's pretty cool. I also got a bookmark.

  2. JanaApril 15, 2013 at 9:50 PM

I went to last summer's Fierce Reads tour stop and met Anna Banks (whom I interviewed, and she remembered me!), Leigh Bardugo (who now calls me "eyelash girl" because she thought for sure my eyelashes were fake when they weren't), Emmy Laybourne (who knew of me before I knew of her!), and Marissa Meyer (who was hilarious). It was my first author signing ever, and it was so much fun! I'm jealous you get to go to this signing! I hope you have fun!

  3. SabrinaApril 15, 2013 at 10:41 PM

I went to a Pitch Dark event way back when Divergent first came out and met Veronica Roth and Josephine Angelini (author of Starcrossed)! I'm older than Veronica Roth, but told her I wanted to be her (as in a successful author) when I grew up. Both girls were so sweet and fun. It was amazing to meet my kind of celebrity. :) Thanks for the giveaway!

I actually never was able to get to an event like that. I live so far up in the mountains, its hard to get to anything that might come near me, (which would be over 2 hours away to the nearest city) I love signed books, and treasure all I have be able to get. Thanks for this great giveaway, and if I was to win, would be very grateful to the trouble your going through, its so very generous of you. :) Hope you have fun while doing it at least. :) (rafflecopter name is Michelle L Lynn)

  5. UnknownApril 16, 2013 at 1:59 AM

I have unfortunately never been to an event like that! Thank you for the amazing giveaway! Have a wonderful day!!

  6. UnknownApril 16, 2013 at 4:02 AM

I haven’t been to an author signing before. Man I wish I could!! That would be the coolest thing ever to meet all these great authors. I just don’t know how to find out or keep up with the signings. I guess the authors websites. I’m definitely going to check and see when they will have some around where I live. Have fun at the signing!! I know you will! LUCKY!! Thank you so much for a chance to win and for being a part of this fun and awesome blog hop!!

  7. UnknownApril 16, 2013 at 4:49 AM

Sadly, I've never been to one. No one ever comes close to my town, and I can't travel to another state right now for a signing.

  8. the superhero princessApril 16, 2013 at 5:26 AM

I haven't been able to get to one -- yet! I did have a friend go see Neil Gaiman and it was a glorious experience. If I ever got to meet an author, I'd love to have a chance to say thank you to Leigh Bardugo for such an amazing book (Shadow & Bone)!

  9. Beth FApril 16, 2013 at 5:42 AM

This tour sounds like great. I hope you have a good time. Thanks for hosting this awesome giveaway!

  10. Joli @ Actin' Up with BooksApril 16, 2013 at 6:21 AM

I went to YALLFest last November at it was by far my favorite author event. I got to meet Jenny Han and Stephanie Perkins and talk about writing with Simone Elkeles. It was fantastic!

  11. Lisa @ Lost in LiteratureApril 16, 2013 at 8:32 AM

I've never been to a book signing or event. :( Isn't that so sad?! I live in Connecticut, and it seems like they never come near me. And it's hard for me to travel, having a full-time job and a toddler baby boy. Ho hum... hopefully some day I'll be able to attend one. It's a dream of mine.

Thanks for participating in the giveaway!! :)

  12. Sarah E.April 16, 2013 at 8:40 AM

I've never been to an author event :( I wish I would've kept an eye out when I was a teenager and living in a huge city, but I didn't. Now I'm in the middle of nowhere and I know there are no events here - well except for children's authors. My 6 year old said one was coming to his school and he is so excited about it :)

Awesome giveaway - thanks for the opportunity :)

  13. UnknownApril 16, 2013 at 9:31 AM

I have never been to one ): I was going to make one on the 10th of April, but I unfortunately got a flat! I was really excited to meet with Marissa Meyer. Thank you for this wonderful giveaway!

  14. fakestephApril 16, 2013 at 10:06 AM

I'm a little jealous of all the fabulous signings you go to! Plus, I bet your weather is nice. :)

  15. Jessica @ Step Into FictionApril 16, 2013 at 10:49 AM

My favorite author event . . . this is a hard one. I'm going to have to go with meeting J.K. Rowling just because it's J.K. freaking Rowling. She did an event in NYC for The Casual Vacancy, where she did a Q&A, reading & signing and it was pretty epic. Harry Potter is my all time favorite series so meeting the author behind that was just. . .perfect

  16. Christina K.April 16, 2013 at 11:11 AM

No one has come close to where I live and it's hard with school to just drive there, but I would LOVE to go to a signing by Leigh Bardugo, Stephanie Perkins (I think she'd be so much fun!!) and Emily Murdoch:)

    Thank you:)

  17. marianApril 16, 2013 at 11:36 AM

meet cassandra clare! got free swags!!

  18. Amanda DApril 16, 2013 at 1:36 PM

Unfortunately I've never went to a book signing. I've attended an online author chat with Julie Klassen which I enjoyed. I would love to meet her in person as well as Stephenie Meyer.

  19. UnknownApril 16, 2013 at 1:42 PM

Yea... I've never been to a author event =\ I wish to, though!

  20. RINApril 16, 2013 at 1:52 PM

Gail Carson Levine! It was sponsored by my college. It's the only author event I've ever been too, but she was fantastic! Everyone absolutely adored her, including me.

  21. VideoclimberApril 16, 2013 at 2:19 PM

I have only been to one. It was Mike Mullin. He was very funny and answered everyone's questions. It was very fun.

  22. DoingDeweyApril 16, 2013 at 2:40 PM

I really liked seeing Meg Cabot - she was so nice and hilarious too!

  23. UnknownApril 16, 2013 at 2:41 PM

I haven't been to any events. :( The only author i have met personally has been Jaz Primo. <3 He live in the same city as me and I met up with him to have him sign my books of his that i have. :) He's so sweet! :) I am looking forward to the RT Book Convention at the beginning of May though. :)

  24. Cali W.April 16, 2013 at 3:02 PM

Sadly I have never been to an author event, but there is still time! <3
    -Cali W.

  25. elinApril 16, 2013 at 3:09 PM

I haven't been to an event yet. I would like to meet Cassandra clare :D

  26. UnknownApril 16, 2013 at 5:22 PM

Laurell K. Hamilton! I thought I would die just seeing her in person! It has to be one of the most memorable times ever in my life!

  27. MaidenveilApril 16, 2013 at 5:28 PM

I haven't been to any author signing yet because of work. But I would love to meet Cassandra, Sarah Rees, and Holly Black. :)

  28. Jaime LesterApril 16, 2013 at 5:51 PM

Well, first the answer to the last question. It was so memorable because it was my first and only event. And that event was Y'allfest in Charleston SC. IT was a lot of fun. I loved hearing the authors speak!

  29. Shelver506April 16, 2013 at 5:56 PM

I've only ever been to one author signing, and it was one that featured Gail Carson Levine and Ally Carter. It was just amazing in general. Ms. Carter was fantastically friendly.

  30. UnknownApril 16, 2013 at 7:02 PM

I've only been to 1. One of them was Deborah Harkness and she was awesome! I loved how she answered all the questions and was engaging. It's my fave memory to date because she's the first author I actually went to a book signing.

  31. Lisa MandinaApril 16, 2013 at 7:09 PM

My favorite author "event" wasn't even really an event! I tweeted an author that I liked when I was in NYC and asked if she'd meet me for a drink, and she did! So cool!

  32. BookLadyApril 16, 2013 at 7:16 PM

Unfortunately, I have not been to any big author event. Hopefully I will someday. Thanks for the great giveaway.

  33. UnknownApril 16, 2013 at 7:53 PM

I actually haven't been to one yet but I love seeing photos and hearing stories of them online and hope to one day attend one. Thanks!

  34. UnknownApril 16, 2013 at 10:01 PM

I'm not sure it counts as an author event, but I went to a Fairy Festival in Southern Pennsylvania and they had a discussion tent with several authors and illustrators and Holly Black was there! Getting to talk about storytelling with Holly Black, then getting her to sign my copy of Tithe and get a hug and picture was beyond amazing!

  35. AnonymousApril 16, 2013 at 10:05 PM

YALLFest 2012! I got to meet Cassandra Clare, David Levithan, and Elizabeth Eulberg! I was soooo HAPPY!

  36. UnknownApril 17, 2013 at 1:26 AM

I have never been to an author event. There are several I would like to meet.

  37. UnknownApril 17, 2013 at 6:37 AM

I've gone to the Austin Teen Book Festival last year and met many authors like Jessica Shirvington, Anna Banks, Ally Condie, Tracy Deebs, Sarah Rees Brennan, Jennifer Lynn Barnes, and Sophie Jordan! It was very fun! :)

  38. Suz ReadsApril 17, 2013 at 7:04 AM

I've never been to an author even but they sound like fun! Thanks for this amazing giveaway - I would love to win!

  39. Two Tall TalesApril 17, 2013 at 7:13 AM

:( I havent had that happen to me yet..maybe one day..I would like to go to the BEA

    please follow me @

  40. Jenna D.April 17, 2013 at 9:26 AM

I've been to so many! But I think my favorite was the one I organized my self as part of the Sunshine Tour with 11+ authors in Florida (including Trish Doller, Anna Banks, Kristen Simmons, Karen Hooper, Jessica Souders and more)... It was just a fin and completely fulfilling event.

  41. erinlee20April 17, 2013 at 9:30 AM

SDCC 2012 so far has been the best because we had the opportunity to meet so many great authors all in one place.

  42. tfalickApril 17, 2013 at 9:57 AM

Sadly I have never been lucky enough to go. I have 2 kids in school and no way to travel to get to an event =( one day, I will. I keep telling myself that.... one day.

  43. UnknownApril 17, 2013 at 10:03 AM

I have never been to an author release event. I did go to midnight release parties for the Harry Potter books and the Hunger Games cast meeting that only went to 8 cities, luckily mine was one of them.

  44. Texas Book LoverApril 17, 2013 at 11:44 AM

Sadly I have never been to an author event! Every time I am scheduled to go something terrible happens. Breaking bones, car wreck...

  45. JillynApril 17, 2013 at 12:35 PM

I've never been to an author signing event, per se. That being said, I went to a Barenaked Ladies concert a few summers back and they signed a copy of their children's book for me, which was pretty cool.

  46. AnonymousApril 17, 2013 at 1:10 PM

    I haven´t meet any author =(

  47. UnknownApril 17, 2013 at 1:47 PM

I've never had a chance to meet any of my favorite authors but I am friends with them on facebook. They are Kathleen O'Neil Gear and Michael Gear. I love their books.

  48. Tiffany DrewApril 17, 2013 at 1:58 PM

I've never been to one, unfortunately. Nobody comes to New Hampshire, not that I can blame them. One day though, one day... Thank you!

  49. ChristinaApril 17, 2013 at 4:48 PM

I've been to a bunch of really great author events. Probably my top events were:
    1. Lois Lowry who was talking about The Giver
    2. Antony John, author of Elemental and Five Flavors of Dumb (So funny and nice!)
    3. Lauren Oliver, gave a great talk and Q and A, and is the author of one of my all time favorite books, Before I Fall.
    Thanks for this great giveaway!

  50. UnknownApril 17, 2013 at 6:12 PM

I've *never* been to an author event. =( You are one lucky reader!

  51. LisaILJApril 17, 2013 at 6:58 PM

Probably BEA, and I met a TON of authors. I liked it because it has so many of my favorite authors in one place.

  52. UnknownApril 17, 2013 at 7:28 PM

I went to a launch party for Lisa Jackson's You Don't want to know. We all ate at PF changes. My stepdaughter and stepson went as well, we had a ball.

  53. AnaApril 17, 2013 at 8:04 PM

Sadly, I've never been to a book event! :( BUT, I definitely would like to go to one! Hopefully soon. :-)

  54. UnknownApril 17, 2013 at 8:31 PM

I've never been to an event, but I would want to meet Karen Marie Moning or Jeanine Frost if I did.

  55. UnknownApril 17, 2013 at 11:41 PM

My town isn't very big so I don't get to meet any authors :(

  56. LAWonderApril 18, 2013 at 3:04 AM

    That is hard to say.
My favorite would possibly be meeting a great LDS author
    Neal M Maxwell.

  57. CassiApril 18, 2013 at 12:16 PM

I've only been to one, but it was cool. I got to meet Julie Milillo. It was awesome hearing her talk!

  58. Beatriz GuadronApril 18, 2013 at 3:39 PM

My favorite author event was seeing Melissa de la Cruz for the second time in January for the Gates of Paradise tour. It was a small room and not a lot of people, so it was more interactive. Plus, she's so super nice!

  59. JodyApril 18, 2013 at 5:31 PM

The only author I have met is Janet Evanovich but I am currently have tickets to Book Bash and Indie Bookfest this summer in Orlando and I am so excited as most of my favorite Indie's are there.

  60. AnonymousApril 18, 2013 at 5:52 PM

Sadly, I've NEVER been to an author event! :( But I would LOVE to go and proubly go one day! Thanks for the giveaway! :)

  61. Literary ChaosApril 18, 2013 at 9:24 PM

There are not many events in Nebraska. I wish there were more

  62. bn100April 18, 2013 at 10:40 PM

    haven't been to one

  63. UnknownApril 19, 2013 at 2:09 AM

I have never been to an author event.
    Thank you for the giveaway

  64. Grace YoungApril 19, 2013 at 1:45 PM

My favorite (only) author event I've been to was when I was in TAB (Teen Advisory Board) last year and we went to see Kristin Levine, the author of The Best Bad Luck I Ever Had and The Lions Of Little Rock, at our public library. It was pretty awesome...I got my book and a bookmark signed and Kristin was super fun and bubbly and awesome :)

  65. DanaApril 19, 2013 at 4:08 PM

I have never been to an author event and I live in the NYC area so I should get on that!

  66. Cassandra! :DApril 19, 2013 at 7:29 PM

I've never been to one, but I think it'd be AWESOME :)

  67. All the Ups and DownsApril 20, 2013 at 9:08 AM

I've never been to one, but I'd love to go. Usually they're in Houston which is an hour and a half away from me & driving in Houston is a pain so I don't go. I just wish authors would come to small cities instead of big ones!

  68. ChristineApril 20, 2013 at 3:34 PM

I've never been to any author event. I'd really want to.

  69. CarolineApril 20, 2013 at 3:47 PM

I've never been to an author event, but I wish I could. I don't really live anywhere near the events I've heard of. I'd love to meet Tahereh Mafi and Cassandra Clare though!

  70. SiNnApril 21, 2013 at 12:53 AM

I have to say I have never been I would love to go to one.One of these days would be awesome to go to a convention and signing and meet all the people I love to read

  71. jayjayApril 21, 2013 at 4:45 AM

So far I've only been in Lauren Oliver and Tahereh Mafi's signing and both was very memorable because YA authors rarely go to my country so I make it a point to attend those

  72. UnknownApril 21, 2013 at 8:42 AM

I met Beth Revis, Marie Lu, Victoria Schwab, Marissa Meyer, Meghan Shepherd, and Carrie Ryan at an even just a few weeks ago. What made it special was having all those incredible authors in one place! It was a little overwhelming.

  73. AnonymousApril 21, 2013 at 9:00 AM

Unfortunately, I've never been to an author signing event. I have, however, been to an artist signing where he signed a book of his artwork, so technically I guess it was a book signing. Thank you for joining this hop - I love signed books!
    Bonnie Hilligoss - bonhill(at)speakeasy(dot)net

  74. DesireeApril 21, 2013 at 9:44 AM

My favorite meeting was when I met Kiersten White! She signed all my books and she was so nice!! I got myself all excited to meet her!

  75. HollyApril 21, 2013 at 10:42 AM

Sadly, I haven't been able to go to any author signing events, which is partly due to the fact that not many come to Michigan. I'd love to meet some of my favorite authors, like Nora Roberts and Chelsea Fine.

  76. A'linaApril 21, 2013 at 12:30 PM

I've always wanted to go to an author event but I've never gotten the chance. The events are always to far away but maybe some day I hope ;) Thanks for the great giveaway!

  77. Ayana April 21, 2013 at 3:09 PM

You're so amazingly lucky to be going to meet these authors! I'm a little green with jealousy. Okay, fine, a lot green! I live in London and it might as well be the moon for how often authors from the US visit. So I've never been to even ONE author event. Zip, zilch, nada.

Which also means that I currently have no signed books. So you might be wondering why I'm even entering if I don't live in the US. Luckily, my big sis does. So if I was to win, I'd get her to send it to me :) But what else are big sisters for if not spending money to send me things from abroad to make me insanely happy?

    Really brilliant giveaway! Thanks :)

  78. StacyApril 21, 2013 at 3:27 PM

Jennifer Baumgardner, a feminist author, came to my university to speak a few years ago. After she spoke, the grad students invited her out to dinner, and she accepted! It was nice to be able to eat a nice dinner with her and chat. We read a lot of her material in class, so it was nice to discuss it further, along with what she was currently working on and what we were all working on.

  79. Lisa Richards/alterlisaApril 21, 2013 at 3:40 PM

Never got a chance to meet an author, one of the few drawbacks of a small rural town

  80. UnknownApril 21, 2013 at 9:24 PM

I have never been fortunate enough to go to an author event. :-(

  81. RabiahApril 22, 2013 at 5:23 AM

I’ve only been to four author events, and the most memorable would have to be Christopher Paolini’s for Brisingr. It was a HUGE event, he couldn’t pronounce my name right (but he did say it was very pretty! :D) and stood there for hours in line but totally worth it! Thanks for the amazing giveaway :D

  82. UnknownApril 22, 2013 at 8:05 AM

Richelle Mead and it was memorable as it was the very first signing I've attended. The lines were huge and I even went by myself, that's how much I didn't care LOL

    Thanks for the generous giveaway!

    Angelica @ Paperback Princess

  83. Christina2227 @ The Book HookupApril 22, 2013 at 8:46 AM

Sadly, no authors really want to come to Mississippi and the TWO whole times that it's actually happened, I was unable to find a babysitter for my two young boys who I know would hate to have to go. (I wouldn't want to torture them, myself, the authors, or the other attendees.) So, unfortunately, I can't speak about an experience.

Thanks for the giveaway opportunity and for participating in the hop!

  84. UnknownApril 22, 2013 at 12:35 PM

My one and only author event will probably be my favorite. I saw my FAVORITE author Ally Carter. She talked, signed books, and they even gave away a free book (I got an ARC of Asunder). It was overall wonderful.

  85. Jolene and FamilyApril 22, 2013 at 2:15 PM

I went to a Marissa Meyer event when she was in my town. It was so much fun and I loved hearing her talk about how she got into writing

  86. Emily @ Falling For YAApril 22, 2013 at 4:15 PM

I met Richelle Mead and that was pretty exciting! There were a lot of people though so I wish we could have had an actual conversation instead of me gushing. I am going to the RT Convention in Kansas City in a couple weeks though and hope to meet tons of authors!

  87. UnknownApril 22, 2013 at 8:44 PM

I have never been to an author events. They don't have them around here.
