In My Mailbox is a weekly meme hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren, meant to spotlight the books we've acquired this week (via library, purchase, review, etc).
YOU GUYS. This week was HUGE for me! Not only did I get some pretty phenomenal books from my library that I'm incredibly excited for, but I was gifted one from a generous book blogger that I have been waiting for so
impatiently. AND: I received my first ever copies for review!
Library
Saving June - Hannah Harrington
Scored - Lauren McLaughlin
The Way We Fall - Megan Crewe
The Survival Kit - Donna Freitas
Winter Town - Stephen Emond
Chopsticks - Jessica Anthony & Rodrigo Corral
Purchased
I didn't mean to purchase any books this week, but I stumbled on this at Target and saw the price tag:
I Am Number Four - Pittacus Lore
A hardcover for less than $5?! How could I pass that up??
It almost makes it ok that it's a movie cover (almost...)
Review (!!!!)
From Publisher:
Yes, Chef - Marcus Samuelsson (thank you Erika @ Random House!)
Even though I generally don't read memoirs, I've said before I will if I happen to love the person - and I love Marcus Samuelsson! Food Network is a staple on my TV (watching now! Anyone seen Sweet Genius? I can't figure out if I like the series or not...), as are food-related shows, and I've loved Chef Samuelsson since the first day I saw him on Top Chef Masters. His story has always been fascinating to me, and I'm so excited to read more in depth about his life!
From NetGalley:
Wanderlove - Kirsten Hubbard (thanks Delacourte/Random House!)
I've heard such wonderful things about this book, I'm so excited!
Gifted/Won
I AM SO FREAKING OUT ABOUT THIS GUYS. If you saw my WoW this week, you know why.
Gilt - Katherine Longshore
My every thanks to James at BookChicClub for gifting me his ARC!
(Gifted/Won, to be more accurate - I happen to be on Twitter at the right time when he tweeted to give them away. Yay for right place at the right time!)
So yes, a fabulous week for me - I have so much good stuff I hardly know where to start!
(except not really, I'm simultaneously reading Wanderlove, Gilt and Winter Town alongside the 2 others I'm still on from last week...)

Awesome mailbox this week Ashley! I love the Food Network and Marcus Samuelsson, so I'll definitely be checking out his memoir when it's released over here!
ReplyDeleteI've read the first chapter and it's already promising to be great!

Awesome IMM, Ashley! So many amazing books you got there! The book that you got for review looks very interesting! I haven't read I AM NUMBER FOUR yet but I've watched the movie! The Way We Fall is really interesting and enjoyable and SAVING JUNE! Absolutely loved it. I hope you'll love it too!
ReplyDeleteHappy reading and I hope you have a lovely weekend! :)
I'm really excited to finally read Saving June, I've heard such great things and it looks amazing. I'm a bit weary of The Way We Fall since a few people who know me said I might not like it, but I'm always open to give it a shot.
